Cornish Abstract - A university based project, of a live brief in collaboration with Anna Glover.
The premise of this project was to observe the idea of 'Positive and Negative Space'.
Cornish Abstract is an illustrational view, looking into the Cornish environment and surroundings,
focusing on the natural versus architectural aspects, looking at the beauty in these seemingly mundane
entities; utilising the premise of positive negative space in a contemporary manner.
This project started with visual research forming in ink, watercolour and lino studies; and translating them into a tactile textile form. I experimented with metapex + dye and painting onto warps before woven and additionally painting into jacquards after being woven.
